Conference Luigi Einaudi (1873-1961)
Eredità e attualità dopo 60 anni
Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, Palazzo Corsini, Via della Lungara 10, Roma
On the 60th anniversary of Luigi Einaudi's death, the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei pays tribute to the man who re-founded the Lincei, with Benedetto Croce, between 1944 and 1946, later becoming the first President of the Class of moral, historical and philological sciences from 1946 to 1948. Elected on May 12, 1948, the first President of the Republic with a seven-year term, he continued to attend the Lincei giving important scientific and cultural contributions.
The conference is in two complementary parts.
The first one considers above all the figure and the work of Luigi Einaudi as planner of the federated Europe and of the social and economic choices of the Italian post-war reconstruction as Governor of the Bank of Italy and as Minister.
The second one considers above all the figure and the work of Luigi Einaudi as a personality of culture in its various political and philosophical aspects, in the dialogue both with Benedetto Croce and with the secular and socialist thought, as well as with the Anglo-Saxon and continental liberal one, and finally for his contribution to the institutions of the Italian Republic founded on the Constitution.
