The Foundation was created with the purpose of creating a cultural institution to make the great heritage of Luigi Einaudi's books and documents accessible and encourage economic, historical and political studies.
Established in 1964, thanks to the donation of the distinguished economist’s library (courtesy of the Einaudi Family) and upon the initiative of public bodies, credit institutions and Turin companies, the Foundation was recognized by Presidential Decree in 1966.
After a few years of temporary seats, Palazzo d’Azeglio was made available by Fiat. It has been housing the Foundation since 1970.
Our
vocation
The Foundation aims to develop socio-economic, historical and political studies, encouraging at the same time the specialization of young scholars.
Our
path
For decades the Foundation has been making the library and Luigi Einaudi’s archives available. It also increases continuously the collections with new acquisitions and provides the technological tools necessary for the research of books and archive materials.
It promotes the discussion and the exchange of ideas by organizing meetings, seminars and book presentations.
It publishes a peer-reviewed open-access academic journal and promotes books series.
It concretely facilitates the post-graduate training of young scholars from different countries, providing them with scholarships and research aids and promoting the creation of an international cultural circuit.
